BridgePoint General Contracting was selected to partner with American Underground for their expansion at 201 W. Main St. We worked closely with the AU team and Belk Architecture to provide the same quality, look, and feel that has become the AU brand as cost effectively as possible. We were able to offer cost-saving ideas in order to help carry forward the brand from the original space into the expansion, while staying under budget and on schedule. Excellent team communication was the key to success on this project as there were many hurdles with inspections, material lead times and logistics.
The Google Living Room brought in another design team to the group, which we managed and coordinated as a separate project. The space has been so well received, American Underground is planning on another expansion in the near future. BGC has been chosen to be part of that team as well.
Blackwell Street Management hired BridgePoint General Contracting for their corporate office interior upfit of the historic Old Bull building at the American Tobacco Campus. This 8,500 sq. ft. space was renovated to meet the needs of this property management and development firm.
Working with Alliance Architecture, BridgePoint managed the entire project for Blackwell Street Management, including completion of the interior renovation, furniture installation, and IT/AV installation. Our team kept the master project budget and managed all subcontractors for the project as this historic building was transformed to a modern office space.
When we were contacted to get Oval Park Grille interior renovation back on track, the project was already behind schedule. Demolition was complete but the renovation work had not begun. Our team worked with all parties, kitchen staff, the owners, subcontractors, and the architect, to coordinate the plans for the renovation and to ensure the designs fit the needs of the restaurant. Our task was to get the restaurant open by the end of May in time for their grand opening.
We worked with Ellen Cassilly Architect, Inc., the architect for the renovation, as well as the existing subcontractors to keep them on board for the project. During our assessment of the project, we discovered that the mechanical system was not up to code, so we hired a mechanical engineer to redesign the exhaust and heating and cooling system. We coordinated the extensive millwork for the bar and wainscoting and worked with the Oval Park Grille interior designer for lighting, colors, and other interior finishes.
The renovation was finished by the target date and Oval Park Grille is now a bustling and beautiful restaurant on Broad St in downtown Durham.
Bronto wanted to update their lobby area to create a more welcoming space for visitors. The designs included plans for turning a conference room with a garage door into a dual purpose waiting area and casual meeting area. The main lobby would need to remain open during construction, so our team set the schedule to include work on some nights and weekends in order to minimize disruption for Bronto’s staff.
We removed the garage door and moved the glass wall to replace a dry wall partition in an effort to bring more light and visibility to the game room and café. To separate the lobby seating from the casual meeting space, we installed a chase wall with beautiful custom millwork. The wall has full A/V capabilities so Bronto can utilize TVs on both sides of the wall to display information for visitors and employees. We also worked with Bronto to select furniture for the new, contemporary lobby space.
The project was completed in three weeks, ahead of schedule and under budget. TBD Architecture + Design Studio designed the space.
We regularly work on projects at the American Tobacco Campus ranging from interior-fit up to large-scale facilities projects. Here, the security team needed an update and upgrade to their space in order to better provide 24-hr professional security services on this active campus.
Prior to our work, the security team only had a reception desk that was prominently placed in a public area. They badly needed a more robust security desk with more room, IT capabilities, space for screens to display images from security cameras, and a more efficient front desk. Belk Architecture designed the space to be functional and present a more polished look for this professional security team.
The challenge for this project was to schedule and complete construction while not interfering with their 24-hour operations. We carefully planned construction maintain operating space for their team. We worked to create the “back stage” security area while leaving the reception desk open, then overhauled the reception area as the security team moved into their new space.
Today, the security team has a public presence with the upgraded and updated security console, and a high tech behind-the-scenes space to conduct their work. The project was successfully completed in four weeks, ahead of schedule.
