Brief Overview: BridgePoint was hired by our repeat client American Underground to complete the renovation of the mezzanine level of the historic Kress Building to create Gridworks. Unlike conventional commercial buildings with acoustical ceilings and drywall walls, the mezzanine level of the Kress building has the original ornate plaster ceilings and walls. The plaster was left unchanged for this project, with only minimal restoration work to restore it to original condition. The effect creates a unique space that blends modern and 1930’s aesthetics. Additionally, the BridgePoint team found creative and budget conscious ways to install the new electrical, mechanical and plumbing without damage to the original plaster work.
